Brother printer need to connect with wifi then with laptop. Step by step.

 








✅ STEP 1: Connect Brother Printer to Wi-Fi

📌 Option A: Printer Has a Display Screen (Touchscreen or Buttons)

  1. Power ON the printer.

  2. Press Menu or Settings on the printer panel.

  3. Go to Network > WLAN > Setup Wizard.

  4. It will search for Wi-Fi networks.

  5. Select your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) from the list.

  6. Enter your Wi-Fi password using the keypad.

  7. Press OK or Apply.

🟢 When connected, you’ll see a message like "Connected" or a Wi-Fi icon.

You can also print a network configuration page to confirm the IP address.

📌 Option B: No Display Screen (e.g., Brother HL Series)

Use the WPS Button method:

  1. Plug in and turn on the printer.

  2. Hold the Wi-Fi or WPS button on the printer for 5–10 seconds until the Wi-Fi light blinks.

  3. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.

  4. Wait 1–2 minutes until the printer connects and the Wi-Fi light becomes solid.

✅ STEP 2: Install Printer on Laptop

🖥️ On Windows Laptop

Method 1: Auto Install (If on Same Wi-Fi)

  1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers

  2. Click Add a Printer

  3. Windows will search the network — select your Brother printer

  4. Click Next and follow the steps to install

Method 2: Manual Install via IP Address

  1. Get the printer’s IP address (from the printer network page or settings)

  2. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers

  3. Click Add a Printer > The printer I want isn’t listed

  4. Choose Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname

  5. Enter the printer's IP (e.g., 192.168.1.45)

  6. Windows will install the driver. If not found, it will prompt to download.

🖥️ On MacBook

  1. Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners

  2. Click the + button to add a new printer

  3. If the printer is on the same network, it will appear

  4. Select it and click Add

  5. macOS will download the required drivers
